Baker Lake (Skagit/Whatcom County) is a large reservoir in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Baker Lake was originally a small natural lake, but was raised in 1959 by the construction of the 312 ft Upper Baker Dam on the Baker River. The lake receives a considerable amount of its water from snow melt from the surrounding peaks, including Mount Shuksan and Mount Baker. There are a large number of camping sites and trails around the lake, which provide magnificent views of the nearby mountains.
