San Juan Archipelago

The San Juan Archipelago lies between Vancouver Island, British Columbia and mainland Washington State. San Juan, Orcas, and Lopez Islands are the largest in the archipelago and have the largest human populations. There has been concern about protecting the water quality on these islands. The goal of this project was to provide data that could be used to identify and help prevent adverse impacts upon water quality in the county. This research project was conducted in 1999/2000 by Huxley College graduate student, Chad Wiseman, under the supervision of Dr. Robin Matthews and the Institute for Watershed Studies.
